UptimeRobot, a well-received veteran free website monitoring service

UptimeRobot is a service provider that offers free website monitoring. freeforwptheme.com has used their services for over a decade, and currently, there are 2.1 million users, including GoDaddy, NASA, Moody’s, IBM, and Expedia, using its free website monitoring service!

The free version of UptimeRobot allows for monitoring up to 50 projects and supports 4 monitoring methods: HTTP(S), Ping, Port, and Page Keyword.

The monitoring interval can be as short as 5 minutes, and failure status notifications can be received via Email and APP push. RSS subscription and status pages are also provided for always keeping an eye on your website status.

Although the SMS notification feature of UptimeRobot requires payment, it can be combined with the communication operator’s SMS notification-enabled email to obtain free SMS notification function.

If the free version of UptimeRobot does not meet your needs, you can upgrade for a fee to get more monitoring projects, shorter monitoring intervals, SSL monitoring, domain expiration monitoring, HTTP status monitoring, Cron job monitoring, and other types of monitoring.

You will also be notified by SMS, phone call, and multiple third-party integrators when problems are detected.

Click the green “Register for FREE” button in the upper right corner of the page.
Fill in your name, email, and password.

Registering for an UptimeRobot account requires reCAPTCHA human verification.

Log in to your email, open the “UptimeRobot – Account Activation” email, and click the green “Activate your account” button to activate your account.

Click the “Add New Monitor” button in the upper left corner of the dashboard, select the monitoring type in the pop-up window, enter a memorable name, and then enter the website or IP you want to monitor.

The minimum monitoring interval is 5 minutes (the free version cannot be selected less than 5 minutes).

Additionally, the free version does not support SSL monitoring. Select Email and APP notifications in the upper right corner, and finally click the “Create Monitor” button in the lower right corner to create the monitor.

The UptimeRobot APP can be found and downloaded on the middle of UptimeRobot’s homepage. Only after installing and logging in to the APP will the phone APP push notification option appear.

Although the free version of UptimeRobot does not provide free SMS notifications, we can download the Gmail email APP on our phone and turn on the email’s alert function. This way, when an email arrives, the phone will be alerted.

Click the blue “Go to monitor detail” button to view the website monitor you just created, or you can continue to create a new website monitor in this window.
