what is Universal Video Player?
Universal Video Player – WordPress Plugin supports YouTube, Vimeo and self-hosted videos and is a top responsive HTML5 plugin compatible with all major browsers and mobile devices.
It plays .MP4 and .WEBM video files (on browsers that do not support MP4).

It plays YouTube, Vimeo and Self-Hosted video files. For YouTube and Vimeo, all you need to use is the video ID
Responsive Design
The plugin can be used in responsive websites. Optional parameter to disable responsive behavior to integrate it into non-responsive web pages.
Compatible with mobile devices
It is compatible with iOS and Android operating systems.
Google Analytics
Option to enable Google Analytics tracking. You will be able to see how many times each video has been played.
Customizable colors
Any color scheme is possible, customizable from the parameters, so you can integrate this audio player in any design.
Option to automatically get video thumbnail, title and description from YouTube server
All you need to use is the YouTube video ID and the plugin will pull these from the YouTube server. Parameters to use your own information.
Since Google has imposed data quota restrictions on YouTube API keys, you will have to generate your own YouTube API key (for free) and replace your existing YouTube API key.
Playlist with 3 versions
You can show the playlist’s thumb, title and description, or hide one of them. Also the parameters of the playlist size and color.
Search playlists
You have the option to search for playlists. Results will be displayed when you enter the search term.
Category
Items in a playlist can be structured by categories. A video can be in multiple categories.
Two skins
You can choose from 2 available skins: back and white. In addition, from the parameters you can create any color scheme, having the possibility to integrate it in any design.
Download option
An available button (on desktop) to download the current playing file (self-hosted videos only). You have the option to hide the download button.
Repost
You can share your video player on Facebook and Twitter. Parameters to customize the share title and description.
Show/Hide playlist
Button to show or hide the playlist. Also option to load player with hidden playlist.
Mix
Playlist shuffle option.
Logo / Watermark
You can define the logo in the top and left corner. Also option to set link and target_self or _blank.
Multiple parameters
Autoplay, loop (whole playlist), color, size, etc. Over 85 parameters from which you can customize the player.
Light-weight
The JS file is about 55KB
Free updates
After purchasing the product, you can download all the updated versions from your account for free.
Note for IOS/Android (restrictions imposed by Apple/Google) and other browsers:
- It only autoplays on IOS/Android when the video is muted. When you set autoPlayOnMobile: true, the video is automatically muted for mobile devices.
- Volume control will not work on IOS/Android. You will have to adjust the volume using the physical buttons of your mobile device.
Note for Safari, Chrome & Firefox (restrictions imposed by Apple and Google):
- Starting with Safari 11 and Chrome 66, autoplay will not work because Apple and Google have disabled autoplay and cannot control it from JS. It only autoplays if the video is muted
- Starting from Firefox version 66, autoplay has been blocked, You can revert to the old behavior from browser settings, when autoplay is enabled.
